The moment that all football fans have been waiting for is finally here!! Its the champions league finale tonight. And, for the first time, we have PSG, the giants from France, ready to go all out against the five-times champions league winners, BAYERN. The Bundesliga giants have been in a stellar form this season, winning all of their champions league games so far. But going into the finals, I am a bit skeptical and more prejudice that this time around, its PSG who is finally going to lift their first CHAMPIONS league trophy ever. I am willing to make a bet, who's in?

LINEUP

Lets first take a look at the possible lineup PSG will be looking to go onto the field.

  1. KEYLOR NAVAS

  2. NEYMAR

  3. MBAPPE

  4. DI MARIA

  5. VERRATTI

  6. PAREDES

  7. MARQUINHOS

  8. BERNAT

  9. KIMPEMBE

  10. SILVA

  11. KEHRER

The substitutes may include ICARDI, DRAXLER, and CHOUPO.

FORMATION AND TACTICS

Thomas TUCHEL, the PSG coach, generally like to play in a 4-3-3 formation, with switching in between to 3-1-4-2 if the opposition presses high on the team. Marquinhos usually drops back and Neymar controls the midfield alongside Verratti. We all know that Neymar is one genius of a player and can be considered as best in playmaking, dribbling, and goal scoring. Tuchel knows this very well, hence he plays Neymar as an attacking Midfielder. Neymar generally drops deep down to receive the ball from Verratti and tries to take chances early on in the game. Mbappe as a left forward is kept to provide assistance to Neymar deep down the line as he can easily provide crosses into the box with his pace and dribbles. Di Maria could provide an extra edge from the right-wing, with his curler shots and crosses. Verratti would be what Thiago is for Bayern and it will be interesting to see who outplays who in the midfield. Marqiinhos and Bernat would be looking to stop Davies, the young prodigy who has been in a scintillating form for the REDS and can cause problems down the lane for PSG. Thiago and Kimpembe would be the wall for PSG, and they would have to keep the striker, LEWANDOSKI in shadows all the time. Lewandoski can be a big big problem for the PSG if he starts scoring. Generally, while defending PSG switches to 2-4-4 with their strikers always on their toes to look for a counterattack. If PSG manages to avoid any big mistakes in the midfield, they can easily give Bayern a strong competition. Choupo is PSG's forward with the best aerial skills and can prove to be a super-substitute if used well by Tuchel. Who doesn't want a bit of luck on their side going into the finals, and Choupo may well provide that edge to PSG after a stellar performance against Atlanta in the semis? A look at both of the team stats for this champions league season can be seen below, Bayern clearly having a domination run but that is nothing to be worried about as the finals can go any side.

TRUMP CARD

The trump card for PSG, you all may have guessed, is NEYMAR.

Neymar, the flamboyant boy, who last won his champions league with Barcelona is desperate to lift the trophy with his new club, which has eluded him for the past 4 years. Injuries, losses, and team fights have overshadowed his career and affected him very much, but this season Neymar has been on a roll. We got to see the old NEYMAR back in action against Atlanta and his superb game and skills won the game for PSG and booked a spot in the finals. Neymar, after Ronaldo and Messi, can be considered as one of the best players of this generation. He has the skills, character, and all things required to become one of the best. If Neymar comes big against Bayern in the finals, he can very well be on his path again to becoming one of the best players. PSG would be highly dependent on him, to showcase his skills and win them the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

SO, who are you rooting for? I bet NEYMAR will make a difference today, and he will be at his absolute best and lift the trophy.
