The Supreme Court verdict regarding the JEE Main 2020 examination and NEET came out four days ago in which the Supreme court ruled out the possibility of any more further delay for the exams. After the hearing was finished, it is now mandated that the JEE Main 2020 will be conducted from September 1 to September 6, and NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2020 is scheduled for September 13, 2020.

This has caused an uproar among the students, the main factor for which is regarding the CORONA crisis that the nation is currently going through. As the nation is seeing a parabolic rise in corona cases daily, to go out and write for an exam is going to be haywire and difficult tasks for many of the students out there. As a result, many of the students have been protesting online on twitter. The #PostponeNEETandJEE, #NoExamsInCovid

has been trending all over Twitter and students are tagging PM Narendra Modi to intervene and postpone the exam after Diwali.

BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy has now come forward and personally wrote a letter to the PM mentioning explicitly that the exams need to be postponed till Diwali as it is in the best interest of students. This comes after the hearing of the Supreme court which in its decision, told that the Exams would not be postponed anymore and will be conducted on the specified date.

REASON FOR THE SUPREME COURT INTERVENTION

The JEE AND NEET exams, which were supposed to be held earlier, had already been twice postponed due to the COVID situation. So, some parents had requested the Supreme Court that the exams should be no further rescheduled. The main reasons given by the Parents were that it is causing loss to their academics and is also taking a mental toll on their child's health. The student's motivation also drains out after some time to study the same topic again and again without any knowledge of the deadline for their exams.

While on the other hand, parents and students are also arguing that the current situation is not good for the students to travel and write down the exams. Seeing the current rate at which the COVID is expanding, many students and parents are against the verdict of the Supreme Court and are demanding that the exam should be postponed again. This is also important as no Vaccine has yet been found for the cure of the pandemic and more cases would result in a mess as hospitals are already struggling with the large no of patients.

So, it would be best to postpone the exams for now until the situation normalizes or a vaccine is made available. This would be a great decision in favor of our students and as a whole for our community.and nation.

The NTA (National Testing Agency) has just updated in a Tweet today that there shall be no layoff furthers and the Exam will be conducted on the due dates decide only. NO FURTHER POSTPONE OF THE EXAMS!!!!.
