Messi set to leave Barcelona??

In a major turn of events for Barca, as if the Champions league humiliation wasn't enough, it is now being reported that Messi has contacted the Barca Board and asked them to accept a clause in his contract that would allow him to move free this summer. As soon as the news broke out, There was an emergency meeting held by the club members to discuss the issue, and the plan forward. This decision from Leo comes as a shock to many, as he had been playing at Barca since his teenage days and nobody thought that a day may come when Messi would though of resigning from the club. If Messi does leaves the club, this would be a major setback for them and in all probability, I don't think that Messi would be leaving the club anytime soon. Let's look at the scenarios that are possible along with their probability of happening.

1. Bartomeu will Resign, Messi, to stay

Chances - 9/10

A lot of what is happening at the Barca can be blamed on the Barca Board of Directors. Petty decisions, inability to bring Neymar back, selling out Arthur(who would have developed into a genius midfielder), and for a lot of reasons have backfired on the board. Messi, in particular, was unhappy with the signing of Griezman over Neymar and has also expressed his discomfort alongside on the field. Messi, after the humiliation to Bayern, may well have made his mind that it is impossible to win with Bartomeu in charge as the Board's decision doesn't align with the team at all. Now it all depends on Bartomeu, and I think he will have to announce his resignation soon, as the pressure of fans and their expectation is building up. Nobody wants to lose the best player on the earth over a Board of Directors who think otherwise. Changing coaches each time the team loose has also raised several questions on the management and the image it shows of so much respected club. Joan Laporta, Former FC BARCELONA president has also come out and asked for Bartomeu and the board to resign immediately. Barca fans have been gathering outside the club offices and Bartomeu may well give in to keep MESSI at the club.

2. Messi Joins City

Chances - 7/10

If the club refused to go down, then the chances of Messi joining Manchester City are high. Messi had the clause in his contract to leave at the end of the 19/20 season. Barcelona claimed that it expired on June 30 but Messi claims he can execute it until Aug 31 extending it to this season. Manchester City is the ideal place for Messi to go to if one thinks of it. His best friend, Aguero, and Guardiola, the coach under which Messi evolved the most are both at City. So MESSI would have no hesitation in leaving the club if Barcelona doesn't pay to his heeds. Man City financially is also strong, and they can pay Messi as he likes and give him the best there. Messi may well play a season or two in the English Premier League as well, as he has been playing for his whole career in the Spanish league. It would give him a good chance to add some more trophy to his golden collection. Jordi Farre, who is Barca's upcoming presidential candidate has told to present a notion of no confidence against Bartomeu and his board so that Messi doesn't leave.

3. Messi Joins Inter Miami(MLS) Or Inter Milan

Chances - 1/10

Who doesn't want to see a Messi vs Ronaldo crossover once again? We all miss the El Classico after Ronaldo left. That fury, that enthusiasm as to whose team will come out on the top and who will be the best player have always been in the minds of football fans. If Messi joins Inter Milan, we could well see those beasts again, going after one another after the Spanish league. If Messi somehow doesn't join City, then INTER MILAN could be the next destination, though its probability is far too less. It would be certainly a joy for the fans as they could see their best players going out against each other again. The chances of Messi going to Miami are almost zero, as he must not be thinking of retiring for now. David Beckham has already shown interest in bringing Messi and Suarez to the club but in my honest opinion both of them aren't thinking of going there yet so soon
